John worked and lived for 3 months at Ken Kesey’s farm in Oregon in 1979. John conceived the idea for a play (The Furthur Inquiry) from an original screenplay by Ken Kesey. In collaboration with Ken, John assembled 30 minutes of film footage for his play from the film that Ken and the Merry Pranksters had made on their 1964 Bus Trip to New York City. The bus trip was the subject of Tom Wolfe’s book The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test.
